Arqueología de Género: Actividades de Mantenimiento y Ética del Cuidado
Dra. Sandra Montón-Subías (Universitat Pompeu Fabra/Barcelona/Espanha)
Sandra Montón Subías is a feminist archaeologist engaged in understanding how gender—past and present—is constructed. Her research focuses on early modern colonial realities in Tåno Låguas yan Gåni, always with an eye on how power, care, and resistance take material form. Sandra is PI in the ERC project MaGMa, a natural continuation of her earlier work in the project Aberigua, which brought her into close collaboration with local institutions in Guåhan and the CHamoru community of Humåtak. Sandra also coordinates two research groups: CGM (Colonialism, Gender, and Materialities) and GRASEG (Social Archaeology and Gender Studies). She holds a simple but powerful conviction: that research should help build a more equitable and sustainable world, which in her case involves diluting divides between popular and academic understandings of colonialism and gender.
